Dimanche dernier pendant que noue étions à l’église et au  vote notre maison a été visitée  et mise à sac . Tout a été fouillé de la cave au grenier, armoires et tiroirs vidés : contenu à terre. Seulement trois bijoux ont été volés : la bague offerte à Janine pour les 50 ans de mariage, un collier de valeur souvenir d’une tante et une montre gousset provenant d’un oncle tué aux combats en 1940 à Dunkerque. La police est venue deux fois. L’entreprise chargée des réparations par l’assurance  est venue aujourd’hui prendre les mesures (vitre et serrures forcées de deux portes )  . Le  voleur est  entré dans la maison en cassant un carreau de fenêtre de façade. Cela fait 31 ans que nous habitons ici et c’est le première fois que nous subissons un tel saccage .

Janine a été fortement secouée  mais déjà la maison  a été remise en ordre .

Autre événement  c’ est l’ élection Dimanche dernier 7 Mai  du nouveau président français qui est natif d’Amiens, la ville où je vis. Cela valait la peine d’être dit et c’ est plus réjouissant que de raconter un cambriolage !

Last Sunday while we were at church and at the vote our house was visited and ransacked. Everything was searched from the cellar to the attic, emptied cabinets and drawers: content on the ground. Only three jewels were stolen: the ring offered to Janine for the 50th wedding anniversary, a precious necklace coming from a dear aunt  and a pocket watch remembering an uncle killed in the fighting in 1940 in Dunkirk. The police came twice. The company in charge of repairing by the  insurance came today to take the measures.( glass and  two broken locks of doors) The thief entered the house by breaking a window pane of facade. We have lived here for 31 years, and this is the first time we have suffered such a ransacking.

 Janine was strongly shaken but already the house was put back in order.

Another event is the election of the new French president who is a native of Amiens, the city where I live. It was worth saying, and this  is more enjoyable  to say  than report  a burglary!
