The river

La rivière ( English version below the video)

La mouvement rapide
presque tumultueux  de son eau claire ,
fascine

La musique du courant
avec ses clapotis jaillissants
libère l’âme

Ses rives sont calmes
mais dans le passé
s’y échelonnaient des usines
oubliées ,

Up the sound of your computer to hear better the song of the river ( hausser le son de l’ ordinateur pour une meilleure écoute du chant de la rivière)

The river

The rapid movement
almost tumultuous of its clear water
is fascinating

Current’s music
with its gushing lappings
frees the soul

Its shores are calm
but in the past
there were many factories
now forgotten

When we have to walk for health not to0 far around we discover a lot of marvels unknown

I can hear the music of the brook as I read this. It reminds me of the bubbling streams and brooks that we saw when we traveled. So very relaxing and I can put myself there in my own imagination and become relaxed and renewed. Yes, there is a lovely music. There is a classical piece by Dvorak…one of my favorites. You probably know which one I mean but it captures the music of the flowing river.

French poetry is more musical and spiritual than English.
I’ve been thinking about you and praying that you are in good health.

    It is Smetana…Muldau…

Love the sound, no river near me I would have to go down town and it doesn’t run like natures rivers.
Glad to see you are back Michel. My walk is in the pool.

  10. Heartafire says:

Dear Michel, what a lovely scene and journey to the chapel with the bubbling river that runs alongside. A joy! thank you, much love! Holly

  11. Water is such an important part of our bodies and life. The sounds of the river are sounds of God from within ❤

That is a lovely poem. That must be great Michel, that you get to see the river on your walk.

  14. CLynn says:

    Michel ❤
So nice to have you back. I had missed in the previous post where you said that you would be taking a break. I had been concerned.
I envy your creative endeavor in making the video. I still have not learned how to do this, and I want to. 🙂
So peaceful… I assume it is indicative of your rest. 🙂

  15. mlbncsga says:

Mornin Glorie! Your river reminds me of Revelations 22, could it be the river of life? It certainly is crystal clear and the sound is heavenly! It is good to have you back, we missed you! ilym

  16. OH, Michel! :-)Your beautiful poem and seeing and hearing the river is perfection on this cold Winter day! The river DOES have it’s own song to sing and I’m so glad it let us enjoy it, too! 🙂
So this river is one you see on your walks?! How wonderful!
On my walks (with Cooper) I see mountains (covered with snow in Winter), ranch/farm land, many plants, trees, flowers and many animals and creatures! There is what we call a “wash”, but it only has water flowing in it in the Summer. But…always so much to discover while taking walks! 🙂
You were greatly missed while you were on your break! Welcome back! 🙂
HUGS and ❤ to you and Janine! 🙂

I am so glad to see this post! I was getting worried about you! Unfortunately, I have been so tangled with our own troubles, I have not contacted you. Don had his heart surgery today (the 27th).

  18. suester7 says:

This was just what I needed! The sound of the river in the midst of a hectic, stressful lifestyle. Thank you for posting this.

How have you been, my friend? Hope all is well with you and your family.

  19. whyzat says:

I am sitting on the bank, a glass beer in my hand and a smile on my face–only in my mind unfortunately. Thanks for the refreshing break, Michel 🍺

  20. julie essex says:

i love listening to water , especially the sea. We have had enough water here as there has been much flooding in the north of England but not here in Widnes. Hope you are well rested after your break

  21. judyrutrider says:

Amazing that we both posted about our rivers at the same time. Yours is much wetter than mine.

  28. Christine says:

Welcome back, Michel. I just saw your lovely family in your Christmas photos too. Happy and healthy new year to all of you. I have gone back to blogging on xanga. Nothing important to say, but I needed to write as therapy. ❤️

  29. skippydoesit says:

I love the river video Michel and love to go and sit and watch the water at the pond up the road.
Since Tims last heart attack and heart surgery I am not blogging here at all and am only on Facebook as I simply do not have the time but I do come here to visit friends.
Tim is doing better and is recovering from the heart surgery well. He has more color to his cheeks than he has had in a long time.
Ali has been weaned off of the medication and is also doing well right now. She sleeps a lot more and the medication and feline auto immune disease has aged her but it is quality and not quantity.
I am doing pretty good too for everything that has gone on and as busy as I have been.
The days have flown by and here it is the last day of january already.
Sending good vibes to you and your Mrs and hoping life is treating you well.

  30. Zakiah says:

That sound of the waters, running along, is the most soothing sound one can enjoy. So peaceful and enticing.
Hope your time off was a good time of peace and health.

  31. mimiwi2013 says:

The “babbling” of the river is soothing, as are the tiny waves “lapping” on the shore of the ocean or on our Lake Michigan. Water stirs many emotions. There is also the invigorating and often exciting sound of a high roaring waterfall, or of the high waves roaring ashore on the ocean or our lake. In the summer, when our windows are open, we can hear the angry waves from over 2 miles away when there are strong winds from the east. There is also the calming feeling when the water is totally still and takes it color from the sky above. Our rivers are all frozen here now, so when I want to hear the babbling, I will come here and listen to your river! Glad you are back, Michel. You have been missed! Love, ❤ Nancy and Ken

  32. KB says:

For peace of mind, water is very soothing.

  33. cjjustice1 says:

I love the music of water … in a river, ocean, waterfall, rainfall … it is so beautiful! I enjoyed listening to your river. I’m glad that you are back so we can keep up better, now that I am also back. I have gotten behind, but will try to post within the next day or two.
    Love ❤
    Carolyn

  34. Sartenada says:

Comment un merveilleux poste. L’eau a de nombreuses formes comme la neige et la glace.

    Amicalement, Matti.

  35. What a lovely poem! I find being by water (streams, rivers, lakes, the ocean) to be very relaxing and good for the soul!

  36. L. Gail says:

I love the sight, sound and poem. Thank you for posting.
