Our granddaughterManon en Juillet dernier : 18 ans . A son côté son frère Antoine . Elle tient son petit-cousin Elliot ( 1 an )        Notre petite-fille Manon last July , 18 years old . At her side her brother Antoine . She is holding her second cousin Elliot ( one year old )

Our granddaughter Manon  that many of you know, ended in June her studies  in Highschool  with a very high level . On this September she  started long studies in medicine at the Amiens University .  You know we live in Amiens  so  we are happy to have Manon with us . More : she has not to go  far from our home ( 20 minutes to walk ).

Her pleasure is to come back at our home in crossing the veggie garden . Look a the  picture how energetic  her steps are  .  After 4 hours of chemistry and biology , she kept all of her energy !

She reaches the back of the house .

By this way after the veggie garden she has to cross the lawn enjoying bushes and little groves. At last she reaches the back of the house .

A good meal   is taken quickly  and after helping  Janine to put the plates in the the diswasher she goes immediatelty in her room to work . I am convinced she will get the contest at the end on the sholar year to pass in second year of medicine studies . . It is encouraging to see so much will and organization. She will succeed .

  29. neilc693 says:

A “pre-med” student! They all work very hard. It must be a delight to have her with you.
I don’t know how it works in France, but here medicine is not an undergraduate specialty. One first earns what I guess corresponds to a licence in a traditional discipline, and then applies to medical school.

      • neilc693 says:

I think medical training is or was like that in the UK too. I’m very impressed by the agrégation system. In mathematics, the “agrég” level of qualification is very high compared to what high school/community college instructors here often need. Manon will do very well, surely, no matter what path she takes.

  30. mlbncsga says:

Mornin Glorie!!! This makes me happy for Manon and for you and Janine, she is starting a new and exciting time! I remember when my twins started college, they were very uncertain about where they would live and although things worked out fine for them, your Manon doesn’t have that one worry. She will be a Great Doctor, I have no doubt!!!! She is also very lovely as is Antoine and Elliot, well the boys are handsome like their Grandfather! ILYM

  31. Cath aka Singapore Girl says:

That’s really excellent! I’m full of admiration! I’m very happy for her, that she doesn’t have to travel far for her studies and she’ll be living in such a peaceful environment.
