The art to soothe a crying baby.
English version below the pictures or video

Near Janine, our granddaughter Julie has just fed Elliot who takes a “nap” on her breast/.
Last Sunday September 10 our granddaughter Julie took us to her mother Carole’s that I call the Duchess She was with Elliot her 6 weeks old son.
As soon as we were arrived Julie fed her baby. Afterwards he took a “nap” on her breast. It was the calm.
But, what happened ? Elliot started to cry ,more and more . Perhaps he still was hungry or again he was suffering at his belly. No one was able to soothe him . All of a sudden the Knight Thierry decided he was able to calm him. The very short video above shows this .

The grandmothern, the Duchess Carole, is changing the diapers of Elliot La grand-mère, la duchesse Carole change la couche d’Elliot
I was amazed with the result and concluded the Knight was gifted , a true artist , an expert in lullabies !! 🙂
Afterwards Elliot was very calm and so beautiful in the arms of his great grandmother Janine . Then, his grandmother Carole could wash him and changes the diapers quietly. When we went back home Elliot slept in the car!
Such an amazing talent! 🙂
Yes Kathy, he is undoubtedly gifted.
It is a talent
Imagine Wrangler doing so, later ! 🙂
Maybe he has not been around them a lot
He has the special way with crying babies!
In speaking ot ‘way”, ,Gail, you begin the analysis of the KNIGHT’s behavior . Very interesting.
Such a treat Michel, thank you for allowing us into these precious moments. Nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby! ❤
You are right, Holly, those are privileged moments. We are thankful.
Notice the walking and talking to the baby. 🙂 I used to rock our children, again motion, but I was able to sing those years.
walking, talking and rocking are certainly important when we observe the video
I am sure you still can sing Bonnie (with some training ) 🙂
What a beautiful baby! When it comes to soothing, babies seem to all speak the same language. God bless you and your family! ❤
I think it is an universal language, Caroline.
Aw!!! Elliot is growing so quickly! He is so cute!
Yes, Grandpas know the magic of quieting the crying babies.
I’m sure The Knight has done this before. 🙂
Every baby needs wonderful parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents like Elliot has! 🙂 Elliot is blessed! AND your family is blessed to have him!
HUGS!!! and ❤ 🙂
Elliot indeed has a good start in life , Carolyn.
Good! 🙂
HUGS and prayers and ❤ for you, Janine, and all of your family! 🙂
A beautiful video, Michel! Thank you for sharing these special family moments with us. The Knight Thierry does have a special talent for soothing crying babies! 🙂
Yes , Lavinia, he amazed us !! 🙂
Oh, I’m sure he would have been able to calm down my eldest daughter when she was a baby. She cried from 8.30 at night until midnight-1 am.
Thank you for sharing with us. ♡
Our 6th child was also a crying baby at night , Anna . I confess I did not have the art nor the patience of the man iin the video above! 🙂
What a wonderful video! Some people really do have a way with babies! Did you take a 4 generation picture of your family? That is a very precious thing to have!
Elliot is the first of the fourth generation like the picture below taken a day after his birth shows it

Beautiful! A very special picture!
Thanks , Nancy ❤
It is fun to have the new life in the house!
A new sprout is growing on the tree of the family, Rachel ! 🙂
I truly think that grandparents are great at calming babies. Knight has the talent, too. When our first grandchild was born, he had colic, and cried quite a bit. I would do what was later called “The Mimi Shuffle’—a shuffling and lightly bouncing, while singing a Cajun (French/Canadian/southern) lullaby called “Gue, Gue, Solingaie”. Used it on all the grands, and it worked. Too bad I did not think of it with my own boys!! It is wonderful that you got to spend time with them. Those times together are so precious as we get older!! God bless all of you!! ❤ ❤ Nancy and Ken
I found your Cajun song on Google, Nancy . It was an efficient lullaby..
At my beginnings on Xanga in 2001 I was in touch with a Cajun . I wondered at this time what it was . He explained to me but did not stay long on Xanga..
totally talented 😉 It was the loving, calming, touch of the great grandad. Love it. I enjoyed the video very much. Hugs,
I am glad you enjoyed the video, Elizabeth.
Oh my! Thierry can be a paid nanny!! what a sweet little baby and that’s what babies do… They cry! They eat, they sleep, and they mess intheir diapers…
You knew all of this, Winnie ! 🙂
The Knight has a great gift , a lovely video that we see all the family in. Elliot is growing so fast.
The talent of the Knight deserved a video , Julie , you are right.
Perhaps the Chevalier has a special vocal tone that the baby likes! What a talent he has to calm the baby 😉
Grandparents always seem to have that ‘special something’ to calm a crying baby. It may have been the vocal tone that was so soothing. Maybe grandpa and grandson where having a private little conversation. So sweet, 4 generation all in one room. ❤
a kind of bond between grandparents and grandchildren child, without any doubt
I absolutely love this post! I wish I had somebody to hold me in my arms so I could sleep !!!
LOL ! 🙂 But I wish this to you, Leslie .
My goodness, this made me smile.
I just love grandfathers with babies. Grandpa’s always have a soothing effect… more like maybe, a mesmerizing effect, on babies.
There is probably something like that, Lynn. I am glad the video makes you smile.
Amazing – he has the gift!! 🙂
Some people have hidden talents, Marion 🙂
Awww….so sweet. I think some people have a knack for nurturing and babies are tuned in to that channel. 🙂 Blessings to the new little one and his loved ones. It doesn’t last long.
“babies are tuned in to that channel.” You say, miriam . I like very much this metaphor.
It is super, to experience the new born baby. I am sure Elliot knows how to keep you all fussing over him. 🙂 And who can blame you! 😀
The Knight is doing a good job of soothing the baby.
Yes he was in full shape ! 🙂
That is wonderful. The babies are so comfortable with the warmth of a body that holds them close. I was in the beauty salon one time, and a mother was getting her hair colored. She had an infant son in the basket. He started crying uncontrollably. The ladies at the salon tried to hold him rock him abut that kid just wouldn’t quit. I was getting my pedicure done, and I asked one of the ladies to give me the baby. I took him and held his little body against my body (chest) and that was it. Instantly the baby stopped crying. If you hold the baby in the arms, without that warmth of close contact, they will continue to cry.
I am so glad your great grand son was so happy in Knight’s arms. \
Warmth and close contact are certainly two factors that tend to make the baby quiet. You are right Zakiah and you have experienced it. ❤
That was amazing! He has a true gift!
He amazed us ! 🙂
How precious. He is a lucky little baby to be born in your family…surrounded by love.
Babies are so special.
Elliot , of course , is beautiful and wise, Françoise ! 🙂
The baby feels comfortable in his grandpa’s arms. Such a heartwarming video.❤
I am glad you like it , Isabel ❤
Love conquers all…even a crying baby ❤
Love is irresistible, Nancy! 🙂
What a lovely post, Michel. Thank you, I remember those days of trying to soothe a baby and we were all so happy when it worked.
Elliot is so beautiful when he is calm and rested
Amazing indeed, Michel – I love the video! You all have the magic touch on how to soothe the baby! Thank you for sharing this. You have a beautiful family! Cheers!
thank you,Larry for your faithful friendship
Michel
How lovely!!! What a sweet baby.
My father was good at soothing babies. They would come to him and go to sleep quickly.
some people radiate peace around them,Linda. It’s is a gift,
Mornin Glorie (again) Babies need a peaceful environment, they also need for people to talk and sing to them and hold them like Zakiah said! Not to boast but I have a way with babies also, they know how precious they are to me. I sing hymns and lullabies, even french ones like Frere Jacques and one in english and french called Chanson Pour les Petites Enfant. I so enjoyed the video!!! ILYM
I would like to hear you singing “Frère jacques ” , Marsha !! Please !:) ILYM
Wow – he is good. I don’t do well with crying babies. They seem to cry louder when I try to hold them.
