From Good Friday to Easter

Du Vendredi Saint à Pâques

English version below the French text

Nous venons de vivre
trois jours intenses:

We have just lived
three intense days:
from death to life
From dark to light,
The triumph of life,
of love , of hope

Such is the Christian faith
the one of all good willing people

    Bonjour Michel

Merci pour ce joli post! Beau lundi de Pâques! Amitiès, Matti

  2. neilc693 says:

I found two pieces in the New York Times very thought-provoking, about the grandeur and terror of Easter and about how Christ still bore his wounds even after the glorification

  3. murisopsis says:

Happy Easter Michel and Janine! We had the big bonfire in front of the church where the Paschal candle was prepared and processed into the dark church. We had our small candles and then before the Eucharist all the lights were raised and all the candles were lit – The light was blinding! The choir sang like the angelic hosts and my heart was filled!

  4. Well stated, Michel. Although we have limitations, It was good to be in church again on Easter Sunday. Our handbell choir even had a chance to play. Happy Easter!

  5. Stephanie says:

  6. Lovely words and photographs . I hope you had a wonderful Easter. It was very quiet here, no family reunion. Sending love ❤️

  7. attatudy says:

Churches aren’t open here. Makes me sad.

    • Here the churches areo pen until 6h pm but there are rules : closed at 6h pm , number of people limited according the surface , wearing of masks , cleaning of the hands etc..;
I am so happy to read your comment, Tudy ❤

  8. Nancy Stuebs says:

We watched both services here on my computer. Both services were so moving, even though we could not attend in person. I think that the older we get, Good Friday and Easter mean more and more to us. Knowing that it won’t be very long before we can be with God and Jesus in Heaven. Our Easter was quiet. Local son called and chatted with us for 1/2 hour. Got caught up on family news.

    • I like your comment Nancy . We do what we can in keeping love and hope
Here we were only four prople around the table because of the lockdown.
Hope it will better soon. ❤

  9. LGail says:

I hope you and your family had a joyful Easter

  10. mrswrangler says:

Looks like a beautiful service. We had a nice supper with family last night even if we were working.

  11. Lavinia Ross says:

Happy Easter, Michel and Janine! It was a quiet day here yesterday. We are thankful for all we have in this life.

Much love to you, Janine and the family, ❤

  12. Doug Thomas says:

Here, several churches (Roman Catholic, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Methodists, Church and others) have weekly Lenten luncheons. These are rotated among the participating churches, with a Lenten message of inspiration for the season by one of the participating priests or pastors. The Catholics, Episcopalians, and Presbyterians – a curious combination – share Good Friday services, though the Easter services are returned to each church. I didn’t participate last year or this one because of COVID-19 concerns, but past years, these ecumenical “get togethers” were spiritually uplifting and proved an excellent way to remind ourselves that differences in our services were not as important as our obedience to the same God. The message of Easter, too, came across in a way that was new and fresh, not just the same old thing! I hope you and Janine had a blessed Easter, Michel! Christ is risen!

    • Very interesting comment , Doug about the ecumenic approach of Easter during the Lent. This is examplary.
This year all has been changed because the Covid that does not take any respite. The number of people in a service is limited etc …. The churches adapt themselves . Christ is risen anyway.. I could not follow all of the offices of the Saint Week because of the dialysis but I could be at the main offices

      • Doug Thomas says:

The Lenten luncheons landed on a dialysis day, unfortunately….

      • Ah! this dialysis , Doug! I have to go again to the surgeon for problems of fistula . (stenosis on the vein ).

      • Doug Thomas says:

I recently had the same issue. Fortunately (I guess), the problem is resolved with an angioplasty procedure that is done while I am knocked out. I hope your procedure goes well, my friend, and you can return to dialysis with the same good results I have had! I’ve had this done three times, twice on the old fistula and once on the new one. It’s a bit of an inconvenience since I have to ask a friend to take me to the hospital an hour away where it is done since I can’t drive for 24 hours after the procedure is done.

      • We have really the same problem, Doug . I am dialysed for three years and already got three angioplasties .My problem is the fistula has been made at the right forearm, the one I use to work!

      • Doug Thomas says:

So far, I’ve had two, one in my upper left arm, and one in my upper right arm. I guess the forearm “gets” to be the next location if needed. I know a couple people who have them in their thighs! I hope I never have to do that.

      • I have to go on this Monday afternoon at the surgeon’s in order he looks at my fistula that does not work well

      • Doug Thomas says:

It sounds like you may be looking to have an angioplasty on it like I did recently for the same problem. Best wishes for an uneventful correction of low blood flow, Michel. They did mine under anesthesia, so I went in, was “knocked out”, and woke up and was taken to recovery. I had no discomfort and came through the process with no complications greater than a small bandage on the entry site!

      • I see the surgeon yesterday Moday, Doug, and the angioplasty is forecast for the Monday May 10

      • Doug Thomas says:

        Best wishes for success, Michel!

  13. Happy Easter, Michel and Janine and family!!!

Christ’s resurrection means everything. I can’t imagine the purpose of life without that basic truth. Thank you for a very meaningful post.

May you and your family continue to be blessed. I pray that you are feeling rested. I know that John tired very easily and would always nap on the days that he had dialysis.

    votre amie,

    Bonjour Michel,
