Dans le passé lointain au 21 Décembre il n’ était pas rare d’avoir de la neige . Ci- dessous une photo de Décembre 2009 où je dégageais la neige de notre entrée et du trottoir . c ‘ était un dur travail mais de saison .
Et lors des décennies antérieures il y avait souvent de la neige en Décembre. En 1948 je me suis amusé à peindre deux femmes partant en veillée , marchant dans la neige avec leur rouet . Je ne me souviens plus si cette petite peinture était de mon imagination. ou si je m’ inspirais d’une image . Mais cela montre qu’ à ce moment-là il y avait de la neige chez nous en Décembre . Il y avait peu d’autos, on marchait ou on allait à vélo . La vie était encoret rurale

In the far past we often have snow in December in the northen France where I live

In 2009 on December 17, in the morning, the snow covered all of the things . I had to make a path in the driveway and on the sidewalk.

In the past the winters were harder in our region of Northern France . I found again a painting that I made when I was around 14 years old ( 1947) . I don’ t remember if it came from my imagination or if I was inspired by an image . It shows women walking in the snow to spend the evening  at someone ‘s house and bearing their spinning wheel . This should be at the XIX th century ! But It shows also that in those years 40’s and 50’s the snow in December was normal .And we walked at feet or rode bicycle. No many cars at this time in France. Life had mostly a rural style.

Et pour cette année ? Je vois le yucca dans notre parterre devant la maison avec déjà des boutons bien formés . Il y a même encore quelque roses polyanthas . Je ne pense pas que nous aurons un Noël blanc

And what about this year 2020 ? I see the Yucca in our front yard having already buds! There are also some roses polyanthas . I do not think we will have a White Christmas .
