Our children’help

L ‘ aide de nos enfants

English version below the pictures

( photo ci-dessous)

While I was at dialysis and  despite of the heat wave we have my son Pierre came yesterday Tuesday in the afternoon as he had promised to trim the hedge around our front yard. Alas almost at the end, the electric hedge trimmer broke down . So he ended in using an old hedge shears and they worked .(see photo above )

And despite we were nailed to the ground by the heat , what did I find in coming back from the hospital ?  Janine was working under the burning sun to gather branches and leaves to carry with a wheel barrow.. Was it well prudent for both of them ?

Family team at work in the garden

We are lucky to have children who help us the best they can. We remember the team working in the garden in the afternoon of Palm Sunday (Isabelle, Veronique and Jean – Baptiste and their children) and recently Carole’s Knight mowed our large lawn in our  backyard . And the daughters help Janine to prepare the big meals at home.

Nous sommes reconnaissants pour leur aide

We are grateful for their help

You have raised your children well. They honor and respect you and are there for you when you need them. Your family is not afraid of working…You are Janine set a good example for them I do admire the rich looking soil in your garden.

Is it normally so rich or do you add fertilizer and rotate what is grown?

That is a big hedge! I have three here to prune, but nothing that high. Great to have so much help from your family. That makes doing the work much more enjoyable, and it must be fun to watch them do it.

  5. mrswrangler says:

Glad your family is able to help.

  6. cocosangel says:

You have build a closely knit family.
    Take care ❤

  7. You have such a lovely and loving family. The weather is dangerously hot, it seems a heat wave has hit in so many places. One must be very careful out there and stay hydrated. (I’m a nurse, I can’t help but nag). Cheers to those wonder children and to you and Janine…well done everyone! Love ❤

  8. What a wonderful family you have Michel. I’m sure the food you have growing in your garden will taste wonderful at harvest time!

  9. Your family is beautiful and loving and helpful, Michel! You and Janine are blessed! (My parents have passed on, and so have my -in-laws…we really miss being able to help them. 😦 So, now we find other senior adults to try to help. 🙂 )

Your garden veggies will taste even sweeter from all of the tender loving care! 🙂

Prayers for you as you continue your dialysis!
Please…you and Janine be careful and safe when it is hot outside!
    (((HUGS))) and ❤ 🙂

    • Yes it is hot , Carolyn, and this why Janine at this moment ( 6h pm) is picking raspberries in the shadow of our big cherry tree /
The veggie garden is suffering with the heat wave we have since Monday and forecast until next Monday ! ❤

  11. blb1 says:

Michele please get a hat for your lovely wife to wear in the sun. 🙂 I have drug mine out now that the summer is here. Same applies for your son. 🙂

If I had your hedge I’m afraid I’d have to have it removed as there is no one here I could afford to trim it.

  12. Quite the yard and family you have!!!!! Blessings for sure!!!! I hope you are feeling much better!!!!

  13. wissh says:

You and Janine are indeed fortunate but as a gardener you know that you reap what you sow. You raised a wonderful family.

I had written a long reply, and pushed the wrong button and lost it!! Just mentioned that most of our family live so far away now, and local few are so busy with work and school now. Ken did not plant annual flowers like he always had this year. We have just kept busy with weeding the areas where perennial plants are. So much rain this year, that the weeds are really thick!! And he has to mow our large yard much more often than usual. I think it is wonderful that your family is able to come and help you now that you and Janine cannot do as much as before. You two are truly blessed!! ❤ Nancy and Ken

    • I know about your family spread on all the USA , Nancy . It is sure I would not be able to till the garden, grow the veggies and trim, the hedges without any help , with my decaying health ! ❤

  17. L. Marie says:

I remember another post where your children and grandchildren helped out. How lovely to have the family working together!Love to you and Janine. ❤️

  18. You and Janine are so blessed to have a large family nearby to help with gardening chores. The best part is when all the family gather around at the end of their work to celebrate life and family. Love to you and Janine ❤

  19. Zakiah says:

There is an Arabic Saying that praises God for the majestic bounties He bestows; “SubhanAllah”. We say this every time we see something beautiful, and in this case your family gathered together to help you. I said it almost as soon as I saw your son trimming the hedge and your wife helping out and your family tending to the planting in your garden. Indeed SubhanAllah! Be blessed Michel.

  20. murisopsis says:

Wonderful that the family all helps out! I hope Janine didn’t over do it with the raking. I know that my friend who had shoulder surgery has to be careful so the shoulder doesn’t get re-injured!!

  21. Catherine Lee aka Singapore Girl says:

    Do keep your room cool!

  22. Please stay cool and be safe! I saw on the news about the high heat temperatures there! Hotter than most desert areas! 😮
    Cool-HUGS!!! 🙂

  23. calmkate says:

dialysis is a tough one Michel, I had no idea you were enduring that, best wishes!

We hear there is extreme heat over there so please take care. Your family were well raised and now you reap the benefits. Your home and garden are delightful but too big to manage by yourself 🙂

  24. saintvi says:

    (((HUGS))) to you! Rachel 🌹

  27. Lavinia Ross says:

Such caring, helpful family is a blessing, Michel and Janine! I am sorry you are experiencing a heat wave in France now. I hope it does not last long. Our month of June has been relatively nice. The real heat does not generally come until July and August and is dry into September or early October.

    • Yes Lavinia your weather looks normal but here for two years we have long period of drought and now heat waves .Beside the winters are mild almost without ice but at the opposite we had slight frost in April sufficing to kill the flowers of the fruits trees and take yellow . the leaves of young potatoes that I have planted too early probably But I do not despair ! 🙂 ❤

  28. Marion Manson says:
