They made it again in the garden.

Ils l’ont refait dans le jardin

They made it again in the garden

English version below the picture

At Easter Day we got  a large part of the family , 5 children and 11 grandchildrenand the great grand son Elliot 8 months old . We enjoyed their presence and after the meal  most of them rushed in the veggie garden to dig the soil and plant the potatoes and the bulbs of onions and shallots . The work was organized by my daughter Isabelle. Most of the gandchildren are adult or almost adult ; And I can say I was amazed to see the garden completely metamophosed in a short time ( arond 3 hours)  The daughters and granddaughters were also at work principally to weed the raspberry bushes  in thee flat band . One of the  daughters  Carole was at home to help Janine . They already made this last year.

Janine and I felt the love expressed by children and grandchildren to for this get together with us and for their help .

Themselves were so happy to be together and keep in touch .

We are grateful that our house continues to be a place to be gathered .for all the family

And after the work they played a game  Et après le travail ils jouèrent à un jeu tous ensemble

There is a saying, ‘many hands make light work’. The work is even lighter when there is love to propel it. I’m glad to see you had such a lovely weekend.

It is so wonderful to see the “metamorphosis” of your garden within a few hours, but even more lovely to see the love expressed and exchanged within your growing family. It warms my heart, Michel!

      • Eat Right Chef Louisa says:

How do you say “Labor of Love” in French? That’s it!!!

      • Eat Right Chef Louisa says:

Merci, Michel.

This is lovely to see! How long would all that labor usually take you on your own?

We are still not in gardening season here. The soil is far too wet to work, and in fact we are predicted to have several inches of snow by Saturday.

I am heartily sick of it, but I guess I will just have to hope it spares the daffodils, which have already endured several snows already!

I hope you are feeling better after the dialysis procedures.

    • To make this alone I needed a month but the garden was a part only of my time .
Snow again tomorrow ? I am not so surprised since we got frost last year on April 22 which killed the flowers of the fruits trees

  20. Gayle Smith says:

  31. This post fills my heart with love and joy! You and Janine have been such beautiful examples to your children. How lovely that they came and did this work together. What a testimony. What a good feeling it must give you both, to know you have such an admirable family. You have made your home a place of love and hospitality. It’s not surprising that they still want to gather there. You welcome them!

How are you feeling, Michel? God bless you and Janine. I am praying for you.

  32. Wonderful to see all the family working together.

  33. Yes ,Hilary, this is encouraging at seeing this .

  34. Susan Joos says:

Michel, I saw your comment on Nancy’s page. She seems to have fallen and injured herself. Her son, Greg, posted an updaye on April 5th: “Update for Mom’s friends. She is still in the hospital, but inpatient rehab now. Still a little dizzy, and can’t taste much but steadily improving. She may be coming home Sunday or Monday. She did find out that the defib, implanted after the heart attacks in 2016, had activated and most likely caused the episode.”

  35. The Family is God’s Gift ❤

  36. You are so beloved, Michel! You and Janine have raised a wonderful family. God bless you, my friend.
