Coupe de cheveux à la maison
Hair cut at home

English version below the pictures

About two weeks ago we had the visit of our youngest son Jean-Baptiste , his wife Melody and the four children, Manon, Antoine et the twins Raphael and Yris.

jean-Baptiste had to repair and reinstall a bar for curtains. Then the conversation came to speak of hair cut.  Don’ t ask me how .I heard me saying my hair on the sides of my head was growing fast and started to pass above my ears . As soon as my daughter in law offered me to cut them . It was an event because i twas the first time I got a hair cut my a family  member . The work has been well done . i learnt that Melody cut the hair of all the family : husband and children . This small  event deserved a photo,to frame and a  small entry on wordpresss for the memory.

There are small gestures that make great pleasure.

Manon tells her father Jean-Baptiste my hair looks better.

  1. Very nice! Sweet story.

  2. KB says:

Just one of the little ways families look after each other. I’m sure that you look very dapper after your coif.

So fortunate to have some one in family that cuts hair. My mom was a hair dresser and I honestly can say dad ever let her touch his hair. He may have after his stroke but I don’t know.

  5. The best part of being a hippie is not having to cut your hair. 😛

  6. mrswrangler says:

Glad she gave you a nice haircut. Prayers for your health.

  7. marica0701 says:

Nice haircut! My mom cuts my dad’s hair… aka, she shaves his head haha. I imagine that it isn’t as hard to do as cutting/trimming. My mom used to cut my sister’s and my hair when we were younger, but she didn’t really care for that task and now we just go to the cheap salon in town.

  9. My step dad used to do my mom’s hair. It is a very nice gesture. So spontaneous.

  10. Louisa says:

Very amusing event at home, a small gesture on the surface but done with a great deal of love ❤

  11. A beautiful family moment.

  12. Gracia says:

Your family loves you, and rightly so. I used to cut my husband’s hair, and the childrens’ hair when we lived in Africa, but I was never very good at it.

  13. I’m envious. I’ve never had beer with my haircut.

  14. How sweet of Melody! You’re looking handsome, Michel! 🙂
How nice to sit in the comfort of your home and get your haircut! 🙂
Yes, small gestures bring great joy! You are loved and well cared for! 🙂
    HUGS!!! 🙂

I agree with you that it is these treasured memories that make our lives so much richer. What would we do without the caring of family and friends?

  16. weggieboy says:

Which reminds me – I have an appointment to have a hair and beard trim this Friday. Now, after reading this, I will be very impatient to have it done! LOL! (Your daughter-in-law did a nice job!)

  17. Gayle Smith says:

It’s nice to have family to help you Michel! Looking good!!

  18. mcbery says:

I do the haircuts here too. 🙂 Saves money and sometimes look okay. 😀 Blessings!

  19. suester7 says:

My mum used to cut my hair when I was young. When I reached my teenage years, I wanted to look more fashionable and so went to a salon to get it done.

It’s nice to keep these memories.

  20. When younger, I use to cut my own hair, especially the bangs. Decided that I wasn’t a barber and now let the professionals do it. You now are looking spiffy and dapper. Have a great day Michel. ❤

  21. Rachel says:

Good family time! Perhaps a savings as well. I always cut my first husband’s hair. It was easy for me and saved us the cost of a barber.
We are in the 30’s today with rain on the way. Maybe the snow will all disappear?!

  22. Susan Joos says:

How fun! I would love it if someone cut my hair at home. In fact, I am supposed to get a haircut tomorrow with my daughter, and I may – MAY – get wild and crazy and get one blue stripe added to my (natural) gray! We’ll see if I am brave enough, when the time come!

Do you mean to tell me that there is something that your very talented Janine doesn’t do?? I have always cut Ken’s hair, and the boys’ too, until they were in their teens. Then my hairdresser did theirs—all of a sudden their mother didn’t do it right anymore! Ken was NEVER fussy about his hair. I would have to keep reminding him that it was past time to be cut. He would look quite shaggy!! Now he uses his barber shears and cuts it very short all over, but not quite bald, and I finish up by doing the spots he missed! You have always looked so very well-groomed, Michel, and Melody did a wonderful job of keeping you looking that way! ❤

  24. jstnotherday says:

Yes Michel, You are so blessed and so loved.
This event that you share brings back a memory of my daughter who did a shave for her grandfather, when his hands became too unsteady to do so (he always liked a razor shave), when he became ill during one of the visits of the grandparents with us. Yes, family love is a very special thing.
Above and beyond that…. just look at the following you have on WordPress ! You still get the posts replies of anyone I know. 😀
    Best wishes, and smiles,
    Lynn

  25. Marion Manson says:

How delightful, Michel! Melody I’m sure did an excellent job in trimming you hair. 🙂

  26. Marion Manson says:

    I meant, your hair!

  27. Lavinia Ross says:

You have a very wonderful, close family, Michel and Janine!

  28. AM says:

    Merveilleux!

  30. You do look dapper! How wonderful to have family over to help with the house stuff. We can all only do so much – I am glad you have help. You look wonderful and your family is beautiful!

  31. Ellen Chambers says:

There have been many haircuts in my house , garage, porches, and yard.–depending how many heads needed it. 5 sons took a bit of time . and Bob was quite good. Two sons still return to my garage to cut each others hair. You are looking good Michel, and the family looks like they are pleased too.

  32. Isabel Capillas says:

Uncle Michel looks happy while having a haircut.
    😁😀😀😁

  33. Winnie says:

😉 Michel, when my father was still alive we used to have a chat about his hair and his haircuts. The funniest part is he was losing his hair on the top and he told me to be very careful of his hair because he had given names to all the hairs that were left on the top of his head. He said that he did that so they stick around! LOL He told me that he had grown very fond of them but they were like friends departing. I’m so glad you got to see your son and grandchildren and Manon sure has grown up quickly! I remember that sweet little girl and now she’s a beautiful young woman. Have a blessed day.

  34. You have a very talented daughter-in-law!

  35. L. Gail says:

My husband uses a clipper all over his head. No measuring. I have cut many family members hair…. but I was a licensed cosmetologist long ago. Hair and nails were my my job in a beauty shop.

  36. Carole says:

  37. She did a wonderful job, Michel!!
If you treat her well, she’ll cut it for you for cheaper than the barber, ha ha.
    🙂

  38. So sweet. Your family is lovely..and apparently very talented. HUGS>

  39. nannyfountain says:

all we need is LOVE ❤

  40. onedanyankee says:

  41. attatudy says:

    Handsome as ever. 😀

  42. Glad to read you, Tudy. ❤

  43. mlbncsga says:

You look great Mornin Glorie! I’ve tried cutting my husbands hair a few times, he decided after that he would just grow his hair long, it’s longer than mine now. ilym

  44. krc says:

We do the same in our home. Totally saves money, whether the styles come out straight or not! Cheers!
