A family is clipping the hedge

Taille de  haie en famille
A family is clipping the hedge

English version below the pictures

Jeudi dernier, mon plus jeune fils, Jean-Baptiste est venu avec sa famille pour tailler la haie de la cour devant. La haie était devenue grande et ce fut un travail difficile à faire.

Last Thursday my youngest son ,Jean-Baptiste came with his family  to clip the hedge of the front yard. The hedge had become big and it has been a hard work  to do .

What was amazing was to see all the family at work, Melody ( Jean-Baptiste ‘ s wife ) and the youngsters Manon and  Antoine and the two twins Raphaël and Yris . Their job was to pick up the cut branches and leaves , and carry them in a wheelbarrow to a big bag. All of them  were very careful and active  in this work but what hits me was to see how the twin Raphael enjoyed it . Picking up  cut branches and carrying them was his pleasure

Depuis le début de l’année, d’une manière ou d’une autre, nos enfants et nos petits-enfants viennent nous aider pour les travaux à l’extérieur ou à l’intérieur. Et nous apprécions avec gratitude.

Since the beginning of the year , in a way or another , our childrenand grandchildren come to help us for the works outside or indoor. And we are appreciating with gratefulness.

Such a surprise to see how the twins have grown! You are fortunate to have family help Michel. Around here all yard work is paid for. That is the reason I plant no more, I’d have to pay. 🙂

  2. weggieboy says:

Clearly, you and Janine spent your time well to raise such helpful children and grandchildren! They are treating you very well, and I have no doubt you and Janine are very appreciative of the hard work and good help your family’s given you this year.

As a bearded guy, I must compliment Jean-Baptiste on his really fine beard!

Those are some large and intense hedges! Ours are kept low, but we instead have some fruit trees and lilacs to provide us some privacy in some areas.

I have never used an electric trimmer, just the old-fashioned big scissors 🙂

  4. whyzat says:

The clean up is always the hardest part for me. You are lucky to have so many willing little hands to help!

  5. Yvonne says:

That’s a huge hedge! It must look so nice now that it is tidy again.

  6. murisopsis says:

The hedge is magnificent! I wish we could grow such a fine privacy hedge – alas, our walnut trees kill all the plants in our backyard. With all that help I bet the job was done in no time at all!!

  7. What a wonderful family you have.

  8. Eat Right Chef Louisa says:

You are very lucky with such helpful children and grandchildren, but Michel, you have rightfully earned it!

  9. judyrutrider says:

I think it’s your children and grandchildren who are the fortunate ones. They will treasure the memories of the time spent with you and Janine for the rest of their lives. And perhaps best of all, they will teach their children to appreciate family connections.

So heartwarming. I LOVE your house.
How Yris has grown, and how adorable she looks. And yes, how I love the enthusiasm of little boys, and little men.
What a blessing your family is.

  11. puffpop says:

That looks like one very challenging job…such a large hedge! But you have such a wonderful family to help you. It appears that they enjoy the challenge.

  12. OH, how wonderful to have such beautiful, helpful helpers, Michel! And they did a fantastic job! 🙂

My goodness! Raphaël and Yris are growing up so quickly! They do love to help at that age! 🙂

What is that saying? “Many hands make light work”. And the hands that helped you and Janine are such loving hands! But, then your loving hands have been a wonderful part of their lives, too! 🙂

    HUGS and ❤ !!! 🙂

  13. Marion Manson says:

That is a big hedge, Michel! It’s great to your family pitching in to help. They are all excellent workers! At our new home there is massive hedge to trim. I’ll take a photo of it soon to show you. 🙂

This is heartwarming to see the family helping together. My father in law had a farming accident and broke his leg so it is the same here, children and grandchildren working together while he heals.

It’s really nice when we have help from the younger generation! Makes it fun for us and gives us happy memories. Some like to help more than others but all help is appreciated! Blessings to your family, Michel. 🙂

  16. Wow – that’s a huge hedge! I doubt if I could keep it straight if I’m trimming it. It’s great to see the children helping and enjoying the work.

    Dear Michel,
How delightful to have your son and his family there to help you!
I remember when the twins were babies – my how they’ve grown!
I remember Manon & Antoine, as well – in a much younger version
of themselves. How old are all of the children now? It is wonderful
to have such close family ties, isn’t it, Michel
    Love,
    Carolyn

  37. mlbncsga says:

Your family is beautiful, both inside and outside, I shall call you all Mornin Glories 🙂 ILYM

  38. in says:

Yowzers, that really is a thick hedge. I need a tool like the one Jean-Baptiste had used. I was thinking to use a chainsaw for the overgrowth at the back of my house too. I just need to get over the drearyness of the task, and make myself motivated to do so.

So great to see the young children helping! Precious photos.
